Hits?

I've been getting PM's from Parker patting herself/hiimself on the back about how many hits he/she is generating. Is that really that important?

I’m sorry you misunderstood my post. The intent of the post was to show you how many were generated in the “Octagon. Please go back and reread my message otherwise you are making me appear very foolish.

Not according to the numbers; "Out on the Mirador"; Topics 803, posts 7559, “Octagon”. Topics 204, post 6228. This means it took "Octagon" to generate enough interest that others wanted to participate 204/6228 compared to "Mirador" 803/7559. If you do the math, it would take approximately "Mirador" 300% (3 times) more interest to generate the same volume. I’m putting my bets on “Octagon’.

Yes, the sad truth is that Octagon topics generally get the most views. Everyone wants to see the train wreck.....

I’m not sure. However, I want the board to grow with many more participants and my impression is that Bob does also. He once said something like this; don’t scare off the “Newbies”, they pay the bills. You decide.

I agree with Bob when he said you don't want to scare off the newbies. Some of the Octagon posts would not only scare off the newbies.....but anyone who doesn't think that no holds barred fighting is a fun way to spend time.


So, everyone has a place to express themselves. Good management, IMO.

No I'm not striving to build the board off mindless rants in the Octagon. There are other boards for that.........lol. However some of the stuff is amusing.

I’m with you on this one. In fact the reason I joined this board is because of the “Octagon”. Like Gringal” put it you get the choice. (Best of both worlds.)

No, all I did was Thank you. I made no promises. Here check it out yourself. Now since this is the second time I’ve had to do this, I’m putting this in a file. And you have my sympathy on the memory loss, I’m sure my day will come.
