Fly Fishing South America
Has anyone been fly fishing in South America? Working on a possible "bucket list" trip and would like some first-hand experiences.

Lucy the Dog says thank-you. Please remember her next New Years Day and sponsor her for the polar bear swim to help Cruz Roja. The bitch raised more money than I did last year!
Back on track - any fly fishers out there?

I've got a son-in-law in Dallas that is a big fly fisherman.
I don't know about South America, but I do know that he fly fishes all over the US and Canada.
Would you his contact info? He's a pretty good guy and is REALLY serious about his fly fishing.
When we vacationed together in Greece he lugged his fishing gear all the way over so he could spend 3 hours on the shoreline fishing.
Crazy....

As an long-ago Izaak Walton League member, I can testify to the fine fly fishing in the mountains of Patagonia in southern Argentina and Chile. The fish got big there, especially in the alpine lakes. There were Brown,Cuthroat,Brook and Rainbow Trout. I think only the Brownies were native. The country is great for hiking and other outdoor activities. I hear there are lots of lodges now, back in the late 60's, there were few.
