Because Chrome OS is based on a browser, it's basically "working in the cloud". You can't install ordinary applications like you can on Windows, or Mac, or Linux. That means no PhotoShop, Skype, iTunes, etc. You can get some similar apps in the Chrome store. Your speed will also be tempered by your Internet speed.
