New RMC hospital

I went on a tour of the new hospital. What a beautiful, fully equipped facility. It will be a feal asset to the community. There will be no reason to ever have to go to GDL again.

Do you know if they have an MRI working?

A woman posted an extensive review of what she saw/heard on her tour at a FB page. This part of it mentions MRI.

There are three surgery rooms in addition to the emergency trauma care, as well as testing and diagnostics using the latest equipment... an open CT Scan, Ultrasound, Mammogram, Imaging and Catheterization machine, on-site laboratory, (baby) delivery area and multi-bed neonatal intensive care unit. An area for their MRI is ready and waiting for equipment which hasn't arrived yet because, given the choice of getting an existing model or newer unit, they chose to wait a few more weeks to have the latest technology available.

Who do you expect to answer your question?

I would have thought that tour would promote their costs as well as their facilities as marketing tools.

You would have thought wrong.

I would imagine their prices would be the same or maybe slightly more than Guadalajara. Depends on the procedure I suppose. I know I would pay slightly more for an MRI locally versus driving into Guadalajara. They will also have to compete with the SAT hospital on many things too.

You can have all the equipment in Mexico, but still have to hire a competent technician and a doctor to interpret results. These new hospitals seem to unable to attract younger, knowledgable technicians, or possibly don' t have enough volume to justify an expensive hire that just sits around all day, trying to look busy. The technician at SA Hospital screwed up my CT scan twice, almost three times. I paid an extra $100 by going local versus Guadalajara. It was a poor investment. I will listen to the specialists next time, if I have time.

Tis true. The specialists at Quality Care insisted I get my contrast scan in GDL versus any lab lakeside including SAT.

Last Friday, October 2, the inauguration of the RMC Hospital was carried out with great success, we are very excited to get started and serving the Lakeside community!

Most Imaging produces digital images which can easily be sent to a GDL Radiologist with a super specialization in a particular field, viz. Musculoskeletal, Neurological etc. I worked in Canada as a General Radiologist for many years and the last 3 years I used to report CT scans which did not need intravenous contrast from a home setup with dual screens, and a voice recognition system which attached the report to the CT scan. Most CT work is pretty much standard stuff and after setting up the machine for beginning and end points and angle, the rest is automated and should be perfect. MRI need a bit more input from the radiologist as to sequences when a problem is discovered. So frankly the radiologist does not even have to be in the hospital to do the MRI/CT.

Hospital is slated to open it's doors to provide emergency care, hospitalizations and surgeries as of Oct. 30th. Last details are being worked out.

Excellent news!! I noticed they have two or three ambulances there too. Can you publish a number for people to call in an emergency? Also will your people answering the phones speak English?

When I toured RMC I was given a pamphlet but noticed no phone number. I pointed it out to the CEO and he attended the lady handing them out. Perhaps it is on

The RMC hospital is now open. We have already done numerous invasive studies such as colonoscopies, minor surgeries and have hospitalized patients of mine. The blood bank and MRI will be and running by the end of Jan. 2021.

MRI is being delivered today and should be up and running at 100% after all diagnostic testing is done in about 3-4 weeks.
