Has anyone seen one of these locally or in Guadalajara?

Re: Air fryer toaster oven combo
I have a Breville, probably the best toaster oven on the planet, from Australia (available online). I got mine before the air fryer option was available. The Breville uses 5 or more different burners inside, each timed to go on or off at certain strengths, depending on whether you are toasting or roasting. Since they are so good at everything I've tried (I also have a submersion blender by them), I would suspect they are pretty good at the air frying part.
However: I bought an air fryer all on its own a few years back, and I was constantly disappointed by it. It will not do fries even close, and certainly not chicken wings (batter or coating just comes off), and you have to actually use some oil anyway. This was the spinning variety. I haven't heard any reports on newer air fryers, in or out of toaster ovens, though, so with luck someone here will have another answer.

We got a Cuisinart and really like it. It replaces the toaster and works great for things like reheats or browning an item. When we replaced our stove (quite an ordeal) it was a life-saver!

I bought a MABE toaster oven a few years ago and would hate to live without one now! Toasts beautfully and is great for reheating.
Can't remember for sure, but I think it was bought at Costco.

Call me silly, but is the air fryer part the important thing or not?

Re: Air fryer toaster oven combo
Yes having the air fryer setting is important but if it is a convection oven air frying can be done by adjusting the heat and time. At least that is my understanding. So I may have to compromise.

Re: Air fryer toaster oven combo
Online consensus seems to be that adding the air fryer part to a convection toaster oven is nitpicking. However, I cannot test this. I know from experience that the convection setting is really only worthwhile when browning, like chickens and pot pies. I can't imagine this even comes close to a real air fryer.

Saw a combination toaster oven/air fryer at Costco yesterday. I believe it was a Cuisinart but not certain.

Yes, mine is the Cuisinart toaster oven air fryer. Here's a link with a description:

Love that it has a non-stick interior but have a question about the controls... don't they get hot ?

My complaint about *these* counter top toasters etc is that sooner than later it seems that the elements or the temp control become less effective. Meaning for example that if I put it on "toast" the elements get red hot but after 3-5 minutes they 'cool off' and don't 'toast' as well. True with Black and Decker and my current Oster for sure... unit in the $50-$90 purchase range.
How does your Cuisinart perform in this respect?

@RickS: I haven't noticed this cooling off effect you mentioned. I admit it toasts unevenly and you have to learn where to put the bread to get consistent results.
@ Feret: sorry I missed your question! No our control knobs don't get hot. The sides of the overn do sometimes, but not the knobs.

I got my toaster oven almost 7 years ago, and fortunately it has never changed from the factory settings for the five heating elements. Of course, it was $250US, so one would expect some kind of longevity. It makes toast better than any toaster I've ever seen, from 1 to 6 slices. But if I'm just making 1 or 2, I use my toaster... WAY too much juice to run an appliance like this one just for browning slices of bread.
I can easily justify the cost: I never use my regular oven for anything but a big turkey at Christmas. Everything else fits easily in the countertop unit, from pizza to large casseroles.

CG,
I suspect that we have the same Breville toaster oven. I agree with all that you have written. The one problem that drives me nuts is the Start/Cancel button and its ability to do so much more than merely Start or Cancel. I rarely get everything all going where I want it to. When I punch the Start/Cancel button it is very likely going to change to convection or change from F to C or sometimes do nothing at all. Despite the quirky controls and the high price I would buy it again.

Ha! I thought I was the only one. Yes, the Breville. I should contact tech support. Didn't used to be that way. I too will buy it again... if it ever dies. Doesn't show any signs of that.
(TIP: Soriana sells 13" round non-stick "cake" trays that hold a tonne of food and fit perfectly in the Breville.)
