SAD
The new owner of La Taverna (Across from Superlake) in San Antonio is running a loss leader to bring in customers and our community is not supporting this 20 year community icon.
Monday to friday from 12 - 2 he is offering a three course lunch for 120 pesos. He is providing an appetizer, entry and dessert. The menu changes daily and the food is fresh and delicious! We need to help this guy from going out of business. He is doing everything right and the public just isn't supporting him

Re: SAD
I've never even heard of the place before but will check it out. They need to boost their presence on social media, etc.

Re: SAD
The old owner of La Taverna left a very bad taste in many people's mouths. He used to be in the location opposite the French Bakery then moved to the current location. imho, the NEW owner would do better if he totally changed the name of the restaurant and set off on a new footing. There is a sign above it saying Under New Management but I don't think that's enough.

Ferret said it. He needs to change the name of the place.
I've had bad experiences when it was under the old owner, too.

It's been hard for even very popular restaurants to make ends meet during Covid as well. Really bad timing for him.

Re: SAD
The food was good, however the up-selling and the misquoted desert prices, along with the pushy style was the death knell for us.

Re: SAD
We have been twice since new ownership. Both times the entrees were horrible- The recipes are not the same, and the pasta is not the same. Francisco was let go (the manager) and opened his own restaurant in San Antonio which is OK. But, Quattro Mori is horrible, and we will never go back. And, we enjoyed the previous restaurant very much.

Re: SAD
Today's amazing 120 peso La Taverna lunch was fresh garden salad, Home made pasta with fresh made chicken parmesan followed by cheese cake. You can't beat that anywhere. The new owner is affable and not at all pushy!

Then as others have suggested, the best thing you can do for him to help him out is to tell him to change the name, because too many people had bad experiences under the previous owner. Starting afresh with a new name is crucial if you have bought a business with a bad reputation.
