We have had a wonderful time here these last two months and loved every moment. We saw some new sights, learned a little Spanish, ate out a lot, took three trips to Guad on the bus (twice to Tonola and once to the Zoo). We rode in Taxies for the first time, discovered the "Goat Path" from Birds to Superlake and met Francisco the goat herder and his chickens. I bought a lot of pastries from the French Bakery, Scandanvian Bakery & Savta and they were our staple for breakfast here along with coffee. I met Jerry Brown and Lori of Jerry Brown Travels fame, reconnected with friends from our trip six years ago, and enjoyed the hospitality of the friendly people here at BOP.

My wife insisted that this would our last trip to the area and she changed her mind. Three months next time in 2024. . I bought three suitcases and spent another $120 in checked bags to bring home all the knickknacks my wife has bought. I kept track of our daily expenses and averaged $72 per day, not counting all the stuff the wife bought and the rent. As much as inflation is eating away everyone's budgets, it is still far less expensive here than back in the U.S., especially dental work.

I thank CBob for running this web board and for all of you that contribute, keeping us all connected and in tune with the goings on at Lake Chapala.

A better compromise: 2 retirement homes.

We had homes in US and MEX simultaneously for about 7 years. AZ and FL.
