Bruno's Temporary Move to La Canacinta
From their FB page. The location was formerly occupied by Escondido
Bruno’s Has Temporarily Moved!
We’re excited to announce our temporary move to Prolongación Ocampo 801, La Canacinta, Ajijic while we remodel our original location for the next two months. We’ll be closed on August 14th and 15th for the move and will reopen on Friday, August 16th.
You can access our new location either from Ocampo or via the Carretera. Enjoy the same great menu with even more space and plenty of parking! We’ll be back at our original location after the renovations are complete.
Thank you for your continued support!

When we were there two years ago they were closed for remodeling. How many times do you need to remodel?

I don't drive past Walmart very often, but since they put in the left turn lane (coming from Chapala) it seems to be free-flowing. Others who live out that way may have a better perspective.
Of course schools are out for summer vacation and that takes a lot of pressure off the roads.
Schools resume at the end of August.

Re: Bruno's Temporary Move to La Canacinta
Approaching the Walmart intersection from the east is definitely better. Now they have to change the light location and/or change the light that only shows a green/red arrow left turn to one that does that AND turns green/orange/red for straight west traffic. The current light is off to the right rather than directly in front of the go straight west lane and many drivers hesitate going forward.
And I still think they need to have the turn left into Walmart from the east to be green at the same time as the turn left onto the libramiento coming from the west... like ships passing in the night.

And the occassional run-a-way truck coming down the Libramiento!

The Libramiento light would be RED in any of the scenarios that I posted about. Yes, there's the occasional runaway truck but it would take out all the cars on the libramiento waiting for the light to change. However, always a good idea to make sure that those cars are stopped before proceeding into that intersection...or any intersection.

The only parking I see is either on the carretera (Yikes!) or on Ocampo Prolongacion which is very narrow at that spot.
What am I missing?

That quote is from Bruno's. I agree with you! I would never leave my car on that stretch of the carretera for an hour+ mealtime. I think lack of parking and mobility access (I believe you have to come down stairs from carretera) is why Escondido did not survive that location.

That location is not meant for senior citizens, we could not do the parking and the steps so we gave up...

Not all seniors have trouble negotiating stairs. A more accurate statement would be that it isn't amenable to those with mobility issues, who might be of any age.
