Electricity out in parts of Riberas del Pilar
Since 7:30 am. My small Jackery back up is sitting on my desk powering my laptop and modem... pulling 22 watts of power.

Re: Electricity out in parts of Riberas del Pilar
Yesterday was a fun day. Electricity went out at 7:30 am... no storm, no wind, no rain. By 8 am, I had all my backups in place but hoped that it would be of short duration. Apparently a transformer blew and didn't get repaired until nearly noon. So, I've learned a few things about battery back ups that I want to share. Although my small Jackery is only 240 watts, it's perfect for sitting on my desk and keeps my modem, laptop and cell phone running while drawing only 25 watts. The painful thing about this 7 year older tech is that it takes forfuckingever to recharge...like about 3 hours. Compare that to my new EcoFlow Delta Max 2 which is 2048 watts and can recharge from 0 to 100% in 50 minutes. I used this outage to do a test run on the fridge. It is a Midea counter depth fridge, has an inverter motor and is 24 inches wide with a bottom freezer that has 3 pull out drawers. I LOVE it and It was the only thing that I plugged into the EcoFlow Delta Max 2 which started at 100% charge. After 13 HOURS, the battery still had an 80% charge left... and the battery was totally recharged to 100% in 10 minutes from a wall plug. That's impressive. Yay EcoFlow!

What does EcoFlow cost? Also the cost for the Jackery?

I would NOT buy the Jackery because EcoFlow has surpassed them in leaps and bounds, however, both brands are available on Amazon Mexico in a dizzying array of sizes and prices. Make sure to check the WEIGHT. I had to purchase a small wheeled kitchen cart to move the EcoFlow Delta Max 2 around because it weighs 50 pounds and doesn't have its own wheels.
Or from EcoFlow Mexico
https://mx.ecoflow.com/collections/delta-series
Or from another authorized distributor of EcoFlow in Mexico
https://powerme.mx/
The RIVER series from EcoFlow is worth looking into if you just want to stay connected. There is a simple 240 watt size the same as my Jackery but with outstanding re-charging speed by comparison.
It all comes down to what you need versus what you want and what you can afford. I would familarize myself with the EcoFlow U.S. site in English to make your choices. You just missed the awesome Black Friday sales.

Re: Electricity out in parts of Riberas del Pilar
I have looked at the website, but find it all extremely confusing. All I want to know is what size unit I would need to power the refrigerator- I can get along without other stuff in a power outage.
And you say you plugged your Ecoflow into the electricity to recharge it, ferret- do they not recharge from solar?

They can recharge from a portable solar panel, a wall outlet or your car. Once the power came back on it was easiest to just plug it into the wall.
The first thing you need to do Mudgirl, is find out how much electricity YOUR fridge consumes over X amount of time. For that you need a Killowatt (or equivalent) available on Amazon or Amazon Mexico. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=killawatt+meter&crid=385LEDQNAVC76&sprefix=Killa%2Caps%2C144&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_5
You plug the Killowatt into the wall outlet that your fridge uses and plug your fridge into the Killowatt. Wait for however long you want your fridge to work when there's no electricity (say 24 hours) and the Killowatt will read how many watts (or) consumed in that time frame. You base the battery size on that watt reading for however long you want it to last.
The EcoFlow's do have "flow through capability" so a perfect set up would be plugging you fridge into the ecoflow while the ecoflow is receiving a covering amount of elecricity from its solar panel. Be warned that there is a MAX amount of solar that different size EcoFlow's can receive so it may be hard to find that sweet spot.

Thanks, ferret, that helps a lot. So I would be looking at the output number for the generator?

Re: Electricity out in parts of Riberas del Pilar
Yes, sort of. For example, the Delta 2 max is capable of storing 2,048 watts but it also has boost technology that helps with that initial surge that most large capacity motors need to get going... like a sump pump or a submersible pump for the aljibe. Just stick with the storage capabilities compared to your actual usage. Then your butt is covered.

There two numbers listed, which is what Ifind confusing. One is capacity and the other is output.

Re: Electricity out in parts of Riberas del Pilar
You'll have to give me an example since capacity should be the same as output. It is possible that there is an absolute minimum that they will not discharge past so as not to incur damage but I am not aware of that.
