I have guests coming. They want to try pulque. Is it being served anywhere in Lakeside? Would you recommend it?

Never been inside though I walk by often but don't pay much attention if it's still open.

Pulque is a very antique beverage, made from certain fermented agave. It's an acquired taste, tho.
Ancient Aztecs blamed the goddess Mayahuel, or more precisely, one fo her rabbits, for pulque's discovery. It was forbidden for common people, though in the Mayahuel's day, everyone could (and should) drink. Drunkenness level could be measured in rabbits. Tipsy? One rabbit. An so on. Death by alcoholic toxicity (or a fall from a pyramid' staircase), it was 'four hundred rabbits'. And it was a ticket to heaven by Mayahuel. The Aztecs though that pulque was nutritious, but had deleterious effects for male's functionality; that's why it was only legal for the elder.
