Going to the airport??

I have had the pleasure of driving into Guadalajara every day this week because my wife had surgery in a hospital there. The traffic is unimaginable. It never stops. In particular I have noticed very long lineups out onto the highway to get to the airport terminal. I'm hearing it can take over an hour to get into the terminal from the highway. This is apparently because it is Christmas surge, and they only have one lane open in front of the terminal instead of the usual three.

I would recommend leaving 5 hours ahead of your departure time no matter the time of day. I have seen the lineup at 5:30am, 8:00pm and any other time I pass by it.

Now I'm off the Guadalajara. Hopefully this is the last day.......

I can only imagine how bad that is as it has been a nightmare around here with people acting like they have never driven a car before. Christmas madness. Hope your wife gets well quickly.

Went to the airport last night. Left Ajijic around 6PM. Wall to wall traffic started around Ocatlan entry point. Interestingly enough not many cars turned into the airport, but around the glorieta it was stop-and-go...mostly stop.
All 3 lanes were open just not moving much.

Well at least they got the three lanes open again......
