While vacationing in Cabo San Lucas this lady lost her life while scuba diving. The most probable cause is that her air supply became contaminated with carbon monoxide.
Such accidents related to carbon monoxide contamination are not unheard of in the dive world.
The phenomenon can be caused by lack of compressor maintenance, lack of filter changes, or overuse and overheating of the compressor itself.

The moral of the story is....If your holiday activity includes putting 100% of your survival into the hands of a particular tour activity, event or guide make sure that they are well qualified, organized and inspected by trusted officials, two requirements that are iffy SOB. Unlike the mentality you are used to in Canada where much confidence is placed on organizers of events because of costly consequences for them. In Mexico you are largely on your own to judge on the spot, what are the dangers and your ability to control them and figure out the odds on your life.

One of our friends died in a diving accident in Hawaii. He would dive every day and one day he got a fish that took off , he did not let go , passed out and died. He dove without equipment so no equipment problem there
The point is that accidents happen everywhere for many different reasons. Diving is not risk free , heck living is dangerous.

Diving accidents are extremely common, even with professional divers. My former Brother in law almost died four times and had to spend 48 hours in decompression once.
He is a professional, owned a salvage company at one time and currently runs profession dive and salvage teams in Goa.

diving accidents happen all over. the point is that they may have more faulty equipment in mexico. that is why she posted. let her slam, what do you care?? is holy mexico your religion? mexico is the new koran.
