Calling the US

Need an idea:

Trying to call my bank in the US. Tried Skype but neither the Skype keypad or my keyboard would work for their phone tree. Then tried dialing the 877# direct from my TelMex landline - service unavailable it said. Used to use Yahoo Voice but gave it up due to Yahoo problems. . .

Any other ideas?

Google Voice. We use it alot and talk to our family and friends NOB. AND it is free!

I use Skype, and when I run into the "press a number" stuff, I just say "Operator."
Thus far every system I have encountered has switched me to a live person.

Weird. The skype keypad tones are recognized by my bank and other systems. But yes, Rolly's suggestion should work. When I get in the weeds on those things, I ask for human help, too. "Operator" is probably exactly the right word that those systems will recognize.

I was able to make the call by trying another phone number to the bank and by using Rolly's technique. Thanks, Rolly. Will also take Sunset Kid's advice and open a Google Voice account for backup. Gracias, to the lovely Rosa Venus!!!
