Almost as good as ATV'ing
A friend of mine is putting together a series of events for both gringos and Mexican. Her first one was a trail ride up into the hills behind hotel Perico where we used to go ATV'ing. It was supposed to be a sunset, full moon rising ride, but the weather didn't cooperate much. It was still a real nice ride and we had a good time. There was van transport available for those that didn't want to ride the horses, then a bonfire, a guitarist and Mexican folk songs. Riding back in the dark was a little scary, but the horses can see in the dark (or so I am told).
More about the experience available here suset trail ride and bonfire
Supposed to be a sunrise ride some time in the future if anyone is interested.

Re: Almost as good as ATV'ing
Thought of you last night and wish I had told you about the ride. Sorry.
Will definitely let you know when the sunrise one comes up.

There's a stable out right next to Chula Vista Norte.
The guy who runs the horses is Gabriel.
