Here is the story...

From a friend of ours in Chapala...
This occurred in my home last Monday/Tuesday early morning.
My home was entered by a man/men through a removed pane of glass in
my dining room.
Electronics were stolen and it took plenty of time to locate the
workings for some of them including a Wii exercise/game system.
Those are just things.
My house and casita have been violated, whomever it was actually
rested/slept on the bed in the casita, showered, used towels,
didn't flush the toilet and tore the place up including the security
screens. AND.....came back again to spend another night in xxx's
absense.
What is absolutely unforgivable is that my house sitter was beaten
within an inch of her life. One of them lept on her in bed and
started smothering her....she fought and wound up having her head
beaten repeatedly on the tile floor. The bedroom looked like a murder
scene out of Helter Skelter and xxx is very lucky to be alive. 100
stitches in head and face, serious trauma, etc.
The police have stayed in my house for a couple of nights hoping this
creature will return.
I am installing the best security system I can find, rebuilding all
the many panes of glass in my livingroom/dining room, changing all
locks and doing whatever is necessary to feel safe again.
Sadly xxx hadn't secured the house as I would but then in many
respects perhaps since they entered through a small window and exited
through the doors which had keys in them....had they not been able to
get out she could be dead.
Am I scared for me....NO....At the moment I am so angry I can't be
frightened.
But all of you, be aware, we can't be too careful.
I'm glad to be home. I miss all of you.
Safety first,

By chance was any home within view being worked on? I'd bet it was the workers as they'd see the home empty and also need a place to stay.

Tragic News In Chapala Empty Details in Guadalajara Reporter last Friday

Post by simpsca Tue Sep 14, 2010 9:29 am

There was an article in the Guadalajara Reporter issue last Friday about this incident. At first when I read about it I was skeptical, hadn't heard of anything that violent in this area in years. But the Reporter vets stories like this before printing. How terrible for the house sitter! and owner of the house.
