Right on David. Reminds me of the guy who hired a contractor to build his pool. Guy was 6'1, contractor was 6' plus.....Guy holds his arm to his chest to indicate depth, saying this deep! Contractor conveyed info to foreman who was 5'5" and You guessed it, ended up with a 4' deep pool....LOL!

Wanna see not square ... check my house. But me/you being the contractor, a 12-1300 sq' house can be built for less than $70k. Includes two walled lots, bodega, car port, water cistern, well and palapa patio. If you can't be there every day and work too ... don't do it

Yep. When remodeling my kitchen, the over 6' contractor and my over 6' husband arrived at the counter height for the burner unit and counter. You guessed it: A 5'10" woman would have loved it. I'm only 5'5, so it's a "stretch". I'd have liked to see how that contractor's 5' 0" wife would have liked it. lol.

Unless that was a separate counter ... they should all be the same height as a full sized stove

the stove and the counters are usually built on about a 10" pad of concrete.
our new counters are higher than the old ones and a perfect height for both it seems. the stove had to be shimmed. 5'4 1/2 and 5'9 1/4.

A base 10 inches off floor level ??? My "pad" under the counters is 6mm and nothing under the stove. Counters are 90mm. If your stove is 90 plus 25mm (10") you'd need a stool to reach it

When I was 16, my dad was building houses and I was working with him. We were trying to finish a house and the painter was missing so they sent me to find him.

He was terribly hungover and I asked him why he drank so much.

He said "Foundation guys. They get it within an inch and say the framers will fix it. The framers get it within 1/2" and say the sheetrock guys will get it. The sheetrock guys get it within 1/4" and say the tape guys will get it. The tape guys get it within an 1/8" and say the painter will get it. And there I am, trying to fill a big crack with paint. It will make you drink"

Boy does that bring back memories, best solution, sub out the taping and painting to the same company and let them fight it out amongst themselves.
