Jessica's Tacos
Does anyone know what happened to Jessica's Tacos? Went there the other day all set to chow on some campechanos, and instead of the usual open air restaurant with red Coke tables, we were greeted by a brand new chain link fence and all signs of the restaurant gone... sort of like what happened at Lety's, except there is no indication of the business having moved to a new location.

I noticed today that it looks like they've reclaimed their old location. Just a few doors west, same side of street, closer to OXXO but not quite to the corner.

I liked their old place much better. Don't know why.

Thanks for the good news!
Thanks, Rosa, for letting me know! I was soooooo afraid that something bad had happened. Juan and Rudolpho serve up some mean grub, and I was at a total loss not knowing where my next 12 peso taco was going to come from.

How about that guy on the corner beside Mailboxes, selling for 6 pesos? Started operating out of the trunk of his car a few months ago; has graduated to a table and stand.

The shrimp and fish tacos at the Wed. Ajijic market are delicious. I prefer the shrimp personally and also the birria. It's a good place to sit and people watch too. The shrimp tacos are 10 pesos.

Re: Jessica's Tacos
Well I hope Jessica's keeps the same hours they did at the old location. They were one of the best places to hit at 3:00am after the party. I believe they were open until 5:00am.

Re: Jessica's Tacos
Tacos are still 8 pesos at El Comal Express in San Antonio (just off the SW corner of the square), and are better than Jessica's, in my experience. No carretera fumes, either.

Don't know their name, but the one right on the square in SAT (NW corner) is great. Particularly if you like your grilled onions.

Re: Jessica's Tacos
In Barra, there is a guy who uses a car wheel as his cooker. For 15 pesos, he makes the best "quesadillas" ever. They are the same as our "campechanos" (sp), but twice the size. No one outside of lakeside seems to call them campechanos.
I ordered five one night this weekend, forgetting how large they are. =burp=

Are you talking about the corner across from the little supermercado... can't picture them. Are they there every night?
The SW corner, inside location, El Comal has great pozole as well.

Yeah, across from SuperLaura. They have a little shop, but cook out front, with a few tables.
And yes, Comal has pretty good pozole.

But the cost of fuel just getting there eats up the savings......and I'm still broke. Maybe send a PM to Sparks.
