Needle Pushers charity can use your odds n ends

Needle Pushers is a local group that sews dresses and vests and knits sweaters for poor boys and girls in the region. This clothing is made of materials donated by the public.

At the Can-Am Day festivity at Lake Chapala Society on July 2 Needle Pushers will have a table set up to explain what their mission is as well as have various garments made by the member volunteers on display. They will also have a donation jar for cash donations as well as be receiving any yarn, fabric, sewing notions (thread, buttons, snaps, bias tape, trims, ribbons, lace, etc.,) knitting needles and sewing equipment (scissors, pins, needles, bobbins, measuring tapes, etc.) to use for the creation of these unique pieces of clothing. The ladies are very creative in using everything donated, as you will see if you stop by the table and take a look.

This is a great opportunity for you to donate those supplies you have tucked away but will not use. Even remnants of yard, fabric, trims, etc. are either used in these creations or donated to the Original Friends prison doll program. So start going through your stash now and bring it to the Can-Am Day event. And if you don't have any materials to donate, please consider making a cash donation when you visit the Needle Pushers table.

Needle Pushers meets every Tuesday (except July 2) in the Sala at LCS at 10:00 if you are interested in dropping off supplies, stopping by to see what we do, or even joining the group.

Thank you for considering helping out this worthwhile activity that helps the children of the area. Take a look at the smiles on the faces of the children in the photos at the most recent clothing distribution and you'll understand how happy these new, handmade dresses, vests and sweaters make them.

Forgot to add that you can leave fabric,etc, donations at the L CS office if you are not going to Can Am Day.
