Re: BATTERY PACKS FOR CORDLESS TELEPHONES
Most "battery packs" for cordless phones are either 2 AA or AAA NiMh batteries. You can get these locally and either have a local repair person solder them in, or do it yourself - about 10 min of work and you'll save 100 to 200 pesos, likely, plus the running around time looking for the custom pack.

The store that is a couple of doors east of the $store in Ajijic at the plaza. That is where we got ours. About $140p.

Yeah, that store across from Oxxo is now the one east of the Regalos Luz off the Ajijic Plaza.

Are these the rechargeable batteries? My understanding is most AA and AAA can't be recharged. Where do you buy the rechargeable ones?

Yes, NiMh = Nickel Metal Hydride, which is the rechargeable type used in most of these cordless phones. Not sure why they haven't gone to Li-Ion yet.....

Expense, Problems with exposure to water, Problems with heat generation, Ask Boeing they know. Most laptops are
Lithium Ion now. Bigger batteries are still problematic in some ways. I think they need a year or two to perfect the larger
array of LIion batteries. Some of the early lithium Ion batteries for cars were actually a large number of laptop batteries
wired together. What a wiring nightmare I wouldn't touch. Stick with NIMH for recharge capable batteries. They do have
LIion AA batteries but these are not rechargeable and expensive.

Jim W: You are close to Chapala. Try the Sony/panasonic store on Madero about 3 blocks up from the plaza on the east side

For Panasonic phone - Mine is a flat battery HHR P104, 3.6 v - 830 mAH
I've never heard of soldering them in? If it's dead, it's dead.

I'm sure she meant solder the lead onto the batteries, so it can be plugged into the jack in the battery compartment.
