Re: Many under 55?
We are 40 and 45, work remotely and are raising our family here. We have been here since summer and its my experience that the younger people are just not as visible as the elders... Often we are not retired, but are working.. making dollars and spending pesos :)
I suggest you network thru social media as most of us work online and have a strong (comparatively) internet presence.

Re: Many under 55?
Hi Shan,
I am also relatively new to the board, here to check things out as a potential place to live for 6 or 8 months to (hopefully) finish my novel. I am your age and I must ask why you choose the Chapala area to raise a family.

Re: Many under 55?
Hi Brian, I joined this board a few months ago in preparation for my upcoming move to Ajijic. I too am in my 40's (barely) and am heading south of the boarder! The pollution, summer heat and expense are forcing me out of Phoenix. I was wondering if you're driving to Lake Chapala? If so, can you please post about your experience and offer any pointers you may pick up along the way. Thanks.

Michellenapier, Wife and I have been making trip from Casa Grande to Lakeside 3-4 times per year since 2011. We order our TIP on line, and try to hit the border around 6 AM thru the truck route to Nogales....they open @ 6 AM, and far better than driving thru Nogales. If you want more info on hotels along the route please post, PM or give us a call.

But Jim:
When are you going to start writing reviews for the McDonald's you always dine at?

Oops Jim:
Some people have already beat you to the punch and written reviews. What does it say about the restaurant selection when McDonald's is ranked 23 out of 52 restaurants in the area?

I don't have a clue Neil, just know my egg, sausage, cheese @ Mac d's is loaded with carbs. That and my bottle of 5 hour energy will get me to Los Mochis for an early dinner. BTW, I never considered Mac's a restaurant....it's my grab n go when making to trip South.
