Fish for Billy Bass

Rumor has it Many Bored members are going off at OH dark 30 tomorrow in search of BILLY BASS'S DADDY! Wish them good catching......fishing is always good...LOL! Look forward to photo's

Well as in line with the last fishing report from Aguamilpa, the fishing was slower than usual, the water is quite high and very muddy, and there are nets everywhere.

The rates at New Bass are:

500p per night per room
900p per boat for 1/2 day guided fishing (6 hours)















And Humerbto asked us to take down pics of the smaller fish and put up new ones of the big fish!!!!

Looks like FUN! Not being familiar with Aguamilpa, what are they getting in the nets? What other fish are in this Lake?

What were you using/most productive, Crank bait or worms? Did you head up to the Colorado? It is a long run.....30 to 40 minutes but usually the water clears.

Where did the other group stay....Israel's or Umberto's?

The other group was next door I believe. We only saw them once.

Humberto was telling us to use cranks but we didn't get nada on them nor did the guides. He even gave us few to try. I caught most of mine on a clear worm. I am not sure where we went but it wasn't that far. I had never seen these two guides before. They weren't as good as previous guides.

Humberto is expecting us back in early March......

Hopefully I will make the trip Bob.....Next time tell them where you want to fish....now that he has increased Boat n Guide cost to cover increased gas prices.
There are some really great spots and scenic up towards the Colorado. We used to head all the way up and fish our way back.....Down side is the 40 minute run on smooth water can turn into the "Hemorrhoid trip from HELL" if the wind comes up,.....LMAO, making the return trip over an hour.

BTW, Did you eat at the restaurant next door?

Since when do good fishermen have to eat dinner in a restaurant? Then again, you are only catching bass!

Neil, I had never eaten Bass prior to relocating to Mexico. Being from the N. W. Salmon, Steelhead, trout, and Kokanee were preferred. ....not to mention Dungeness Crab we took off our deck @ Siletz Keys.

I discovered Tilapia 15 years ago, and they are harvested in Agua Milpa, followed by Black Large Mouth Bass in 2006. While totally different white meat..... I love em all .....my taste, my stomach, my lower than necessary cholesterol!

You and I have been around the bend re: trout vs bass.  Just a matter of personal taste and I tend to be a red meat fish eater.  As you probably figured out, my earlier statement was designed to get a rise out of you and others.  When we both finally retire, we are considering a relocation where the following two trout rivers that are less than 10 minutes away:

Since I really want to get more proficient with scenic and wildlife photography when we move, I am creating a reference photo album of good photos I find to set the "bar" for myself. Those photos all came from the online edition of their local newspaper and their daily photo album.

the pics show a good eating size. that one bob is holding looks like fillets fer 2 easily.

No, you need to fish em way down near the bottom.

Top Water rigs work there. Take a light 6' rod, and enjoy catching a lot of fish, in the 12 inch size range. CB is correct, overall the larger Bass are hangin out on the bottom.
