Shaw question yet again

I don't mean to beat this dead horse, but I'm coming down from Vancouver in May.   Thinking I should bring my own Shaw HDPVR Satellite equipment.  the unit less dish is $400 CDN at Best Buy.   Should I ?  or should I buy when I arrive.  My house has a dish , but who knows if it works. Maybe I should bring the dish too.   Canuck Bob, I noticed you did this.  Is it worth it?   BTW - I'm flying  not driving.  I already  have a Lakeside resident to "hook up with"  Shaw wise anyway.   TIA

i am and was a starchoice/ shaw customer long before we moved here and brought the equipment down with us on our existing canadian account. bring the dish too if it's a 75e. stick your tongue out all you want but it's better to be legal than what you have in mind.

You are looking at a much greater cost and it could almost be double, I would bring your own equipment and then just pay an installer.

Yep, best to bring your own stuff down. The dish cost me a $50 extra luggage fee but was well worth it. Only bring the dish if it is the bigger one (75E).

Yep 75E dish works much better especially during the rainy season. Also much easier to set up. Bring your stuff down. Much cheaper.
