Unique Way to Kill a Scorpion

Interesting way to kill a scorpion I had never seen before. Do NOT try this at home unless you are brave (or stupid) or have an immunity to scorpion venom.

One of the local Mexican construction workers showed me this way to kill a scorpion. What he does is grab the scorpion by the tail leaving just the "pick" on the end exposed. Then he holds the body of the scorpion with the other hand and curls the tail over and sticks the stinger in the scorpion's back. It then becomes motionless in about 2 seconds.

My four Mexican cats kill (torture than kill) scorpions all the time. If you see two or three cats in a circle it is probably a scorpion in the center of them. Not sure about Gringo cats skills as my cats are Mexican cats raised indoors and outdoors. I use to worry about it now I view it as a feature of being uber catted.
We are referring to the small blond scorpions not the big ones Clint use to spit on in his westerns. I do
see some bigger ones on the side of the mountains but not in my house.

A local gardener was telling me there is a fellow on Mezcal Island who has a party trick to poison himself with multiple scorpion stings - apparently he is immune.

What if the scorpions have already stung things before he was stung so no poison left?? I know the trick works with many snakes used by snake handlers. Saw them making the snake bite something til the venom stopped.

You can build up an immunity to just about anything - remember poor old Rasputin, his enemies tried to poison him with styrchanine, but he fooled them.

Me - I'm working on an immunity to beer, if someone tries to poison me with beer, they are going to get a big surprise.

The worker who showed me this trick is from Mezcala so maybe the blood lines in that area have built up an immunity to scorpion venom.

When it comes to immunity to various toxins, I would have to assume it is a personal thing and wouldn't plan on inheriting an immunity. As a kid, I spent four days in a hospital from a cobra bite and I certainly would want to count on any kind of immunity now! However, I did know a Colorado rancher who claimed at least six rattlesnake bites and believed that he had built up an immunity?

My husband has been stung several times by scorpions and never had a reaction to them. They are only dangerous if you have an allergic reaction and he does so no need to build up an immunity for him.
I do not think you build up immunity to allergies you are either allergic or you are not but you can become allergic so there is always a first time..

5th grade in Manila and my next door neighbor and I were running late for Little League practice at the Country Club. We were pushing our bikes through a field of high grass that we weren't supposed to be in and I drew the short straw. We had been schooled in what to do and he jumped on his bike to get the doctor from the club. Had a anti venom shot in about 10 minutes and off to the hospital for four days. Not fun but glad to have nothing more than some swelling and sweats.

Our dog growls at scorpions. She has a low fierce "scorpion growl" and when I hear her, I run in, smooch the scorpion and tell her she is a good clever dog.

Years ago i was told by a mexican farmer that a scorpion bite could keep one from developing cancer. A major university has been doing research the last 7 years and the cuban government has used the blue scorpion venom to produce a medicine that cost 700.00 u.s. for 30 day pills. Its sold as a supplement and as a last resource should be tried just to see if it helps a person with terminal cancer
