Carta de Poder

Post by sparks on Sat Jul 26, 2014 1:19 pm

Are all Carta de Poder's the same as far as longevity. We use them on the coast with Presta Nombres so could be kinda critical. I've heard recently they are only good for 5 years .... but I see no mention of expiration in my paper work. Could be hidden in the legalese?

Also could they be renewed in Chapala if they are for property in Melaque.

Jalisco State law (Civil Code) says poderes are good for up to 5 years.

Complete new carta poder as old one will have old date, you just cant scratch the date out and put a new one, also it is best to put copy of IDs and they may have expired.
