Power Outage In Parts of Chapala All Day...Now the Internet Has Also Failed

This morning around 8:30 a.m. the power went out and I heard a distant pop! We have a generator but most people in our neighborhood don't. Unless they use a smartphone, they're now also without internet. It's 6:30 p.m. still no power. How far has this outage reached? CFE said it was a wide spread area outage. At this point in time, we may need to buy more gas for the generator.

The latest, as of a few moments ago, is that there has been a team assigned to it and all we can do is report it so they'll send out the message.

Any other known outages?

None that I know of in Ajijic.

That "Bites Lori" That happened to us on upper Codernecis on a regular basis. I'd hear a pop...power out. Called CFE and got busy or no answer. A couple years ago it happened on a big football day....weekend! After 5 hours, I picked up Jorge and we drove around Chapala on a Saturday. Found a service truck, offered 500 pesos for them to fix the power, no PROBLEMO!

Other than going through the night without power or a short period of time this has been one of the longest periods of time without CFE power at our home. I'm surprised more people don't have generators up here. It's kind of fun if the power goes out during the holidays, my house is the only home "shinning" in the night :) My husband spoils me.
