Rumors - Any Truth???

If the police are going to be sanitized and the corruption cleaned up somewhat, it will take a few years.  Even if that happens, the real problem is getting the people to have confidence in the police and the police to have credibility with the people. Because of their track record, that might take several generations.

I think they need to reform their justice system first.

Agreed. Top down rather than bottom up.

that is what's being done but like slainte39 says it takes time and yes it's being done from the top down.

What about the transitos? Were they included in that roundup, or just Muni cops?

i think they are trying to clean up the police right now. Who knows when it will be the turn of the transitos. A good clean up of these guys would not hurt either..

the cleanup of vialidad started in the previous state admin when a special force swooped into vial headquarters. there were firings,demotions,etc. right at the top. it takes a while to go down the line to the bottom feeders.
like i said before,eventually there will be no muni nor vialidad in jalisco. only one state force. they will get better training and higher wages.

I though half the Chapala police force was fired after their involvement with the shooting of those 2 guys they picked up and delivered to the cartel last year.

It worked so well that they are doing it again.

I wonder if it is the other half from before or the new half that was just hired.......jaja.

I think they only busted six cops last year following the kidnapping and attempted murder of the two guys. That was as far as they were willing to go at the time. We had a relatively new police commander then. He is one of the cops who failed the new vetting process.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high about the new state Fuerza Unica,they just busted three of them for extortion and attempting to kill the officers who arrested them,all three of them had passed the new vetting process.

my source is personally know to me and has worked in this area for this and the previous gov't as well as the previous federal gov't. as a contractor and high ranking official with the state security in it's various forms. you are not known to me or him nor on a need to know list, so you will not get any more info as to source other than what i have said. i said all policing in jalisco will be state as one entity and not necessarily fuerza unica as it now exists.

one source person who is no secret to me.the vialidad raid at headquarters was in the news when it happened. you are entitled to believe what you want.perhaps you make stough up since most of the time you don't provide sources? carry on.
