[b]Lakeside has lost one of its 'characters'...Jim Collums passed away...I verified it with the Lake Chapala Society and they said the hospital called them this a.m. and informed them of Jim's demise. We will miss him dearly.

I was told it was total organ failure due to sepsis. He had the atrophied kidney removed at IMSS but the other kidney was not doing well.

Here's what happened:


Jim's illness was fast and deadly.He thought he had a bad cold or flu and waited trying to take care of it himself until it was too late.By the time he was taken to the clinic,the infection had raged uncontrolled in his body killing off his kidney and also causing blood poisoning.
We are planning a memorial for him next Tuesday at La Tasca.I will fill in the details soon.
