I know Aeromexico has this route pretty well locked up but are there any other airlines servicing this route ? I'm thinking internal domestic mexican airlines a la Volaris, etc. TIA

A quick check on www.kayak.com shows only AeroMexico.

Mexican regional airlines seldom appear on the US based services, so it is wise to take the time to check the individual carrier websites.

ask mary at the travel agency across from santander in chapala. i took the etn bus from there to guadalajara recently for $590p/5hours. the cab to chapala $500p.
there were sales booths for all the internal airlines at the pv airport but that doesn't mean that they fly to guadalajara.

Interjet does fly from PV to Guad. Viva Aerobus does not.

Volaris also flies from PVR to GDL for about $3500 pesos return.
