Gravity feed switch Empty Gravity feed switch

Post by The Postman 12th February 2015, 11:37 am

I have the  paddle float switch with the ball in the tinaco for turning on the water pump when the water is low. This switch needs to be replaced about every 2 years because they get waterlogged or any other reason possible. My question is there a better switch  or way to send the turn on and off message to the pump?
Thanks Bill

That is what mine looks like. I have put in two in the last 3 years. Something is not right so I had better look past the switch. Must be something else causing the problem.
Thanks Bill

Probably getting fried from voltage spikes or a ground fault. Maybe try putting a regulator in that circuit?

A switch either works or it doesn't .... so what else could it be.

Mine are disconnected because they would be used so seldom I want to know my pump is not frozen/stuck or lost prime. I can plug the pump into AUTO or MANUAL so it's mostly unplugged
