Now that rain last night, here in Ajijic centro, was "biblical". I'm sure several inches came down in a matter of an hour. The sewers couldn't take anymore and actually started to back up in my showers............. Beer

Watch Voltage it is very low this morning on one phase up here on the hill Bob.  I am showing it wander from  0 to 115V up and down.  Don't know if high voltage problem or local problem on grid but be aware. Showing 108V right now on one phase at 8am. Switching voltage regulators sound like they are keeping time click click click.  108 is kinda low folks. Watch your goodies.

I was at El Barco when it started coming down really heavy and they had to stop the band as they feared electrocution. There was a small river running through there.....jaja.

We found it very entertaining to watch from the comfort and safety of our covered patio! What really amazed me was the dummy who was in the field between El Parque and El Dorado firing off cohetes in the middle of the first storm (between about 8:30 and 9:30 last night).

Who stands out in the middle of an open field during an electrical storm? Even the chickens were smart enough to find shelter!

Bob's right.  That was "Biblical" last evening.  Sat out under the terrazza roof and watched the show.  We were wishing we had one of those lake views to really see the action.  A small river ran down Ramon Corona.  No sewer backing up, but our pipes are a bit higher up from the street than Bob's.  Quickie power outage, but CFE seems to have it in hand better than a few years ago.
Beer to Mama Nature.  She's a tough one.

I felt bad for those even lower down than us Gringal. They must have had some serious back-up unless they have a one way check valve on their main line.

Agree that such a valve would be a good thing if you're at a low point on the flow.

Our place is very, very old and I had wondered why they built it up as high as they did; same with the one on the corner.
Could have been that weather at that time caused the streets to flood; most likely they were all on septic systems at that time.

Had some very serious hail east of Vista del Lago. Took the rear window out of one car and destroyed the glass tubes on a couple of roof mounted solar water heaters that I know of so far.

I heard Guadalajara was also hit with some very nasty hail last night. I understand we may get hit again later tonight as this is all tailings from hurricane Carlos. Hopefully it is not as torrential as last night.

Isn't that Carlos right off the coast from Acapulco? If so, do long range satellite image video and see what hits Guadalajara later tonight. If not, then what storm is that?

Yes, that is carlos. And its outer bands are nowhere near your area. It's summer dude. It rains in the summer. If and when Carlos affects your area, it won't be scattered fronts.

Canuck Bob: "Carlos is in the eastern Pacific. Our moisture comes from the Pacific. Therefore our rain is from Carlos".

Uh huh.

Did you even look at the satellite imagery over the next 12 hours or is it just another example of:

Satellite imagery for the next 12 hours? Satellites can now take pictures in the future? That is some amazing technology.

The storm is still far from your area. It is barely moving and you won't see much of its affects until Monday at the earliest.

Your gauge is probably calibrated in millimeters. And 10mm is near 1/2" (12.7mm).

Storms have been welling up NW of Guadalajara the last 2 nights and tonight is no different.  It was clear earlier in the day, but late afternoon the storms start consolidating and moving our way.
I'd guess we'll get hit again in a few hours.

If it doesn't copy the settings go to ajijic, zoom out, and turn on satellite on the right

Carlos has now achieved hurricane status and is projected to make landfall near Manzanillo sometime Tuesday morning. You can track his progress here:
