Felicidades to all the good Canuckleheads out there.

Canadians are everywhere.  Was just in island off the coast of Belize and went to the open mike music at a bar and there was a shaw dish on the roof and Hockey on the TV.  Very strange sitting in shorts in the heat and humidity with the trade winds blowing and watching hockey on TV to a Jimmy Buffet song playing on the stage.

Belize had been advertising large in Canada that past couple of years. They even had commercials on TV looking for Canadian expats to retire there.

The islands off the coast have winds which make it much cooler but boy are you right Pedro about the mainland part of Belize. They actually speak three languages in Belize.  Pretty much everybody speaks English but much Spanish and Creole/Patois is widely heard. I very much enjoyed trying to understand Creole. Spanish is the same as ours a little bit different accent than Jalisco Village Spanish but I could talk my Spanglish with them. The Mexicans do most of the hard work on the islands don't know much of the culture of the mainland as we always stay on Caye Caulker and avoid all the rest of Belize. The reef is worth a trip alone. Funny but no flights to Belize from Mexico. We flew Interjet to Chetemul and took a 2.5 hours boat trip to Belize. Ask me if you want more info. We go every five years or so and don't get tired of it.
