I'll post more as I have time and slip away from my honey here. Right off the bat I've noticed IVA is 11% and prices are higher all over.

This place is so full of gringos it makes Ajijic look like a K mart in Los Angeles (lots of Mexicans).

The action is apparently in Cabo San Lucas where we will go tomorrow but there is alot of building here and this looks to be the up and coming place. Not much rain here, am staying in a normal home in a regular area, no gringos and we did hit the beaches today and hope to go on quads soon and do some diving.

I guess it never rains here so it reminds me alot of Puerto Penasco and the north of Mexico desert and beach. My friends says the people here are friendly but not very detail oriented and not go getters. She is from Chihuahua but has been here for 20 years.

This place is also expensive, everything is alot, taxi drivers rake you over the coals but so far my girl has borrower her family's SUV although planning to go clubbing we may be faced with paying 600 pesos for a 20 minute ride home if we go to Cabo San Lucas.

There is a Canadian Consulate here, just saw it today.

more later

Nice photos!

My brother has been living in Cabo San Lucas (except for the 4 or 5 months when it is REALLY hot) for the last 9 years. He has a place right on the ocean with a golf course.....he loves it there. In the summer, he used to move to Aspen, to cool off. But the prices there were ridiculous.....and then he came to visit us....well, the Aspen house went on the market and he bought a summer home here....especially after he saw the prices. He couldn't believe how inexpensive things were! Every time we went out for a meal, he just shook his head......

You are absolutely spot on.....Cabo is very expensive. I prefer San Jose as a town but still expensive. Try to get to Todos Santos.....I think that it has the distinction of being a "Magical Town". Also La Paz is good for a visit as well.

Your friend is very cute......Have a great time!

I got lucky and the weather was great but ocean was cool, so I didn't go diving.

Pretty much everyone speaks some English and prices are in dollars. We went to San Lucas and the marina and all over.

I went to Chileno Bay beach yesterday and it is a great public beach. Bus fare from where we stayed in San Bernabe to San Lucas is 25 pesos. Another close beach to San Jose is Playa Palmillas which is the first photo.

At the airport I met a girl from La Paz and she said it is great there and much cheaper than San Lucas. All in all I really didn't see much benefit to living there.

There didn't seem to be any noticeable drug violence but quite a few people told me the narcos and government have an arrangement and they are allowed to do their business as long as there is no overt violence that would hurt tourism.

The other home I was in didn't have bars on all the windows but was in a humble area.

Transportation is kind of poor, I was told the governor owns a bus company and doesn't want any competition so the people suffer.

The people are generally out of shape. Everywhere sells flour tortillas so they are carbing up I guess.
