New problem with insidelakeside.

After I login, new posts are colored in red like they are supposed to be. However, when I select posts since last login, the search tells me that there are no new posts that meet my criteria. And all the new posts are no longer colored red. Does anybody else have a problem like this and know what to do to fix it?

Well, I just logged in and everything seems to be working correctly. I don't know what did it but it wasn't me.

But now I just tried to insert an emoticon in this post but it doesn't seem to be working.

The original problem seems to have returned. Colored red posts are disappearing before being read.

Try deleting cookies but you will lose passwords and have to resave them if you haven't tried this already.

I wiped cookies and browsing history in Google Chrome  and that seemed to solve the problem I was having. Thanks Zed for your tip.

It shouldn't work but it does laugh out loud. Cookies gone bad.

There is nothing that can be done about it at this end. Perhaps a different device to browse with?

So if you blow away the cookies again does it fix the problem?? If no try a different browser like Chrome if you are using IE as CB suggested.

if no one else is experiencing that same problem, the issue is your computer. Have it rebuilt.

I am using Chrome on my smart phone. I'm not using the mobile version of the board but I'm using the classic version.

Since I don't use my computer to access inside lakeside, rebuilding it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Does it do it with BOTH versions of the site software mobile or classic??

Yes, it happens with both versions of the board software. At first the notification of an unread post looks perfectly normal. Then I look at one post and after I leave that post all the other unread post have lost their coloring and I'm unable to determine which ones are unread or not.

I think the problem is caused by a board cookie. It updates the date and time after one post has been read which then marks all posts as read.  However, it could be the Android operating system on my phone because I recently had an update.

Also, I'm still having a problem when making a post in accessing the emoticons. When I tap on the smiley face all that happens is nothing.

It is the android system on your phone. No one else seems to be having these issues and I have never had the issue using windows & IE. You should change the title of this thread to "Problems with my Android phone".......jaja.

Using Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet and Samsung Galaxy S5, both fully updated with latest Android software and zero issues. I can only assume that your issues are related to that highly customized smartphone that you claim to own?

Just fired up Nexus 7 with Android and cannot see the behavior you describe.
