8 story condo tower in La Floresta

It is amusing (not really) to see that the 8 story lakefront condo tower is still well underway even though there are numerous "stop work" court orders against it. Of course only an idiot would buy anything in it. I'm surprised the guy with the building on the pier didn't just do the same thing.

A friend lives by it. I was surprised they were obviously working on it but with the right people's palms greased anything is possible.

If the price was "right" I would love to buy at that location

I contacted them from one of their ads and was told all units were sold in tower one and two

Yep, and then one day the Feds will size the property, boot everyone out and we'll read about it in the sensationalized media NOB.

It's my understanding legal action has been launched at a federal level which should, theoretically, make the municipal and state payoffs ineffective.

That all depends on who is doing the paying.  You are all assuming the primaries interested are local.  If those people are connected then up it goes and protected it will stay even with the show of some federal action - which can easily be done for appearances.  

Besides didn't we see a few years back that the law hasn't much punch when the decisions on the real estate companies and the monopoly or whatever ...  Whole bunch of nothing.

Once upon a time..........pristine lake fronts in many places. Didn't last, anywhere. Greed conquers all, and this is only the beginning for the area.
However, I wouldn't invest a peso in this one, on in the visual blight crawling up the mountain.

Well all the Muni really has to do is refuse them hook-up to water, sewage and power. If they hook up anyways then come and disconnect it all.........really quite simple.

...which leaves the question of who is "connected" to the "connector".

A few years from now we will have some new members complaining that they live in the high rise in La Floresta and the muni doesn't pick up their garbage and keeps cutting off their power and water......jaja.
