Good grief! It said 36% of the alcohol is not kosher?

I was amazed to see companies such as Hooters and Senor Frogs tied up in this.

Imagine what the rate really is during Easter week or Spring Break...

Stayed at Iberostar Cancun recently.....lovely facility.
The lobby bar, I guess not so much, but I stuck with pin(y)adas.....so what do I know?

Since so many were involved I do wonder if it was cartel intervention. The ole "alcohol or lead" scenario........

Iberostar is big Spanish company, so it would have to have been the local management.  
Who knows how much drug laundered money might be behind many of these local  retail businesses so the "lead" wouldn't even be necessary. Just staying under the same umbrella.

This is fake booze (ha ha -I know what your are thinking!). It is cane alcohol (same as rum) which has been carbon filtered, and then flavorings added such as:

If it is made properly, with premium flavours, it is very difficult to tell the difference, especially in a mixed drink.

It is illegal because no tax has been paid on it, they just keep the old bottles, bust out the plastic thingy, then siphon in the fake stuff. The trouble is, they often keep around some of the 95% stuff - which is lightning in a bottle. Not many people around who can drink that stuff.
