Charter Boat Rental Empty Charter Boat Rental

Post by Joyfullone Mon Oct 23, 2017 3:46 pm

I was wondering if anyone knows of a boat, that has a captain, that can be rented for about 25 people to cruise the lake for a few hours. I was looking to sight see on the other side of the lake during the early evening hours. Dinner aboard would be excellent too.

Thank you!

Go west on the Carreterra and quite a way after you pass Arileo restaurant (large brick building on the lake side) you'll see a series of restaurants on the lake side, clustered together. On the right side, you'll see a large sign advertising a charter boat that's just what you are asking about. If you look out on the lake at this point, you may see the big white boat itself. If you find yourself in San Juan Cosala, you've gone too far.
Maybe another member here has the number and/or can tell you about their experience on the boat.

The boat is called the Batur and fits about 250 people. It is quite expensive to charter unless you can fill it. The quote I got for a private event was $25,000 pesos for 4 hours.....

They do sell tickets for a cruise they do every Sunday so if you don't mind going with others then that would be the way to go.

Joyfullone has about 25 people, which would make it 1000 pesos per, not all that bad. . .meal, entertainment, cruise. I wouldn't pay it but others might.

This is great information. I will take a drive down to the yacht club tomorrow and get more information. Does anyone know what time they open. Thanks so much.

The $25000 does not include anything other than the boat. Catering, entertainment, etc. is on top of that. I'm sure you can barter with them. I never got that far.

There is a large sign on the mountainside of the caraterra across from those fish restaurants with the contact information.

What about the excursion boat at the Joco malecon? If it's still operating, it goes out a ways toward SJC three times a day on weekends, or it used to. If they're still operating, I'm sure you can strike a deal with them for a private excursion.

That is a good option. I would be interested in hearing how much that one is to charter.
