Ok everyone, Shea got back to me. It will be $180 pesos for 2 pc halibut fish, chips and slaw. That still sounds good to me but if anyone wants out just let me know.

How does Thursday, May 17 at 1:00pm sound????

I bought fresh halibut loin here (vancouver) a week ago.around $C30/kilo. Y ou do the math. $C98.00. Out of that I got 8 halibut strips (think petit NY strips) About 5" X 3 " x just over an inch thick. Crazy yum. Fresh halibut deep fried suberb. Frozen not so much. Go with fresh. I'd take with my chips any quality local fresh seafood. Mahi rocks. Give the guy a break. Work with him.

Don't worry, Shea is the original chef from Adelitas (Jason's nephew) and has worked in 5 star restaurants in Toronto. He knows his fish and guaranteed me it is the real deal. I am going to start a separate thread for this event.

Stopped by Costalegre Fish Market in SAT to see and maybe buy some halibut. Disappointed to learn it is not halibut but lenguado. They said they recommend it to people asking for halibut because the taste is similar. He had a whole one on ice, definitely not halibut.

yes but it is very good fried as well..I buy lenguado and I make delicious dishes with it.

Yes, I will try it, today I bought some fresh snapper instead. They said their lenguado is flounder and flounder is a good tasting fish.

Was it filete o entero? To me, it makes a world of difference. Love huachinango entero, frito dorado; never eat it in filet form.

Salinger, I don’t think the wire mesh shirt would do you any good. I suspect she goes right for the jugular unless your shirt is a turtleneck .

I hate typing on this IPad. I typed Slainte and it came out Salinger. You could disguise yourself as Bennie. Nobody would bother you then.
