I assume everyone with employees here in Mexico is giving their workers today (Friday Nov. 30) a paid day off or triple pay if they work, in observance of the Inauguration Day Mexican National Holiday.

I only found out about this a couple of days ago!

The holiday is tomorrow so why would you give a day off today? I will be giving my gardener tomorrow off.

In the accompanying notes at the bottom of https://www.officeholidays.com/countries/mexico/index.php it states that:

"If a statutory holiday falls on a Saturday, Friday with be considered a statutory holiday"

I would have expected banks and other businesses to be closed today (Friday)

In your case the gardener gets a paid day off for the Inauguration Day National Holiday - that works perfect!  My gardener does not work on the weekend so I'm giving him a paid day off today.

If I had a part time gardener working a couple of days a week (say Tuesday and Friday) I wouldn't be giving him today off with pay. I would expect whomever he works for tomorrow to be giving him the day off with pay.

The plumbers that are working at my house say this weekend is a Puente and today is the holiday. If you have workers working today, you have to pay holiday pay.

That would be for fulltime employees that don't work Saturdays...…..it's like a "day in lieu" and the same thing applied NOB......
