Anyone been to Mamas Musical Bar in Riberas? Was the food good? Is it an extension of Mamas in SAT?
They had a grand opening May 5th.

Yes, it is the same owner. It is a karaoke bar so I'll never find out how good the food is.......jaja.

Mama's Bar was given to one son and the new Mama's musical bar is being given to the other son.

Well they probably have it every night. There seems to be a big karaoke draw here. The old Mama's Bar had karaoke several nights per week.

I’ve never seen the appeal of karaoke but to each his own. They should be glad I won’t be showing up. A voice like a frog in heat.

well you have to be pretty drunk to enjoy listening to bad singers and or have some masochsitic tendencies..

Oh, sure. They have fun and that’s what counts. Just doesn’t appeal to me.

My one and only karaoke experience was accidental, but hilarious. I went to a pizza parlor in a strange town and (after ordering) discovered the karaoke aspect when a group of kids in the ten year old range came in with someone's parents. A very short and skinny girl went to the mike and proceeded to render her version of the Titanic "my heart will go on" song, complete with very dramatic body language.
Fortunately, the pizza arrived shortly and I took it "to go".

Being hammered helps a lot with the enjoyment of Karaoke.

Its like needing to be stoned to really enjoy Pink Floyds "The Wall" movie.....lol.

The good news is that the music is not loud. It was loud the first night (and really awful - Karaoke explains a lot) but thankfully they are keeping the "music" in the building.
