The official start has to be 3 straight days in a row with significant rain (more than 1" ).

I'm predicting May 30th.

I say June 11.

June 14th, say I on the way to rainy Seattle.

I'm there with Pete for June 14th. After all with 109 years of experience he should know the weather.

June 19 is the last of the 3 days. So the rain begin on June 16 end on June 19.

Me too, Gawd awful dust this year, worst in my memory. Insidious fine dust, gets in the electronics, drawers, it's in everything. Funny, I don't remember renting a house with a dirt floor . . .

I'll pick June 7th for the rains to start so the 10th after 3 days. Hope CBob is right.

June 15. I always pick June 15. One year the rains started a day before that, but I am not optimistic this year, even tho the rainbirds have started singing.

June, 13, St. Anthony's Day.

June 1st. The latest 10 day weather forecast is calling for "isolated" thunderstorms on May 30th (thunderstorms, what a sweet word I have been waiting for and my dog to...)

I think we are at a point in history where it has become impossible to predict weather, especially if based on history or the behaviour of bugs and birds. I think Smartalex is right, late rains this year, and then downpours.
I just hope we don,t get a drought this year. Bizzarre weather patterns over the U.S. the next few weeks caused by an imbalance in the jet stream (again). This might push either cool moist air or hot dry air into Mexico from a northern direction.
