Ear clinic / cleaning? Empty Ear clinic / cleaning?

Post by Rosa Venus Mon Jul 08, 2019 11:51 am

My ear is clogged with wax to the point it's difficult to hear. I had them cleaned by a nurse at one of the medical clinics here but that wasn't enough, and nurse didn't want to go further as it was "too deep". Can anybody recommend a place to roto-rooter my ear? Very Happy

I always go to Dr. Nogueira at the Quality Care Clinic in the Interlago Plaza. He does a great job!

I went to the ear Dr at quality care about 3 years ago. He cleaned both ears, extracting a lrg amount of wax from the right one. Charged me 600 pesos

I would recommend using ear candles so you don't further damage your inner canal.. Easy, non-invasive, painless.. Google it.. I will PM my contact info if interested.

Ear candling has not been scientifically proven to be effective. In fact, it can be dangerous.

Appreciate the alternative suggestion but I think I just need a traditional cleaning.

Look up Debrox Ear Wax Removal. Perhaps you can use it for maintenance of wax removal.

YES! I had to ask the entire world to keep things down until I got used to it. And yes, ferret, I should have said "like new" ears. Very Happy

Truth is, I had this problem once before about 20 years ago. Dr. Garcia said some people just generate more wax than others and I guess I'm one of them. He couldn't even see the eardrum. And since I do NOTHING for maintainence, the time had come to call Roto-Rooter. Only one ear was blocked. It was a super easy procedure.

Ear-candling works for some people, but it is dangerous. It is based on a system used centuries ago, when it also "cured brain deficiencies". "A triumph of ignorance over science". Next thing, we'll go back to bloodletting to cure the flu.

There is only one proper way to clean the ears: syringe flushing and expert picking. Takes 10 minutes, even for the worst ears, by someone who knows what they are doing. Both Drs. Rodriguez at Clinica Ajijic so this for me, as I have to go every 8 months or so.

HAHAHA Rosa! Ok, shhhh . . . we're keeping it down for ya.

I've actually done the procedure, it was mildly fascinating, but have never had it done to me. Maybe I'll give it a go. What is the cost?

I think it helps the process to use "something" to soften the wax before the cleaning process...or not?
