Shaw Direct dish and HD receiver. Also if possible if you also have room for one more client. The receiver needs to be able to pick up the new satellite

You may not have read that the receiver will never be able to pick up the new satellite unless you are actually IN Canada.

I did contact them and they want $850 US for a non PVR receiver and dish installed. A little rich for me when I am here for 6 months

I have a system that is paid up through October with basic programming. I would loan it to you as it is just sitting here not getting any use. You would need the satellite dish however as we use that with our dvr receiver. We got the second one for my mom but her visit did not go well and she has returned NOB so it is just sitting here not doing anyone any good.

I have a shaw 630 for sale. And I have a shaw 75E dish. Someone else inquired about the dish but nothing firm yet. 6000 pesos for the box and 1200 for the dish.

Not to burst any bubbles, but a Shaw receiver only gets what is contracted for, and ALL current models are capable of getting all channels offered... for a price. No way does Francine's price of $40 even come close to getting all the channels. She has never offered a full package.

It's a sad truth that our local "installers" charge through the roof for components, compared to what they cost in Canada for brand new gear. But importing them adds quite a bit to the price. Then they add a remarkable markup. So, someone selling a used system that they paid up to $10,000 pesos or more for are naturally going to want to recoup some of that money.

The best price is always going to be a Canadian who brought his/her own equipment with him, and doesn't feel the need to price gouge when leaving. Unless of course he's a cheap bastard...
