Kobe Bryant dead

Damn!

His beautiful 16 year old daughter, also a rising basketball star, was on board too.

Beyond sad. Beyond tragic.

Total dead was 9. Jimmy Fallon had a wonderful tribute as did several other mediums.

Tragic doesn't even begin to describe it.

He was a professional athlete who did a lot of good. He got in his pants the same as everyone else. There are a lot of others lost everyday that contribute a lot to The lives of others I am a former military wife....what about them?

I am not negating the impact of the loss of military lives but there is a difference when you choose to put yourself in harm's way compared with anyone else who dies tragically in an accident. imho

Exactly, ferret. Additionally, Kobe Bryant was known and respected worldwide.

And I agree that not enough respect is paid to each military loss. Governments, esp the current US government, makes it clear they think young American lives lost in political war games are expendable and of little consequence. Just another reason I despise them.

Any death is tragic when it's too soon, be it a soldier, a sports star, or a mail carrier.
