Unable to open server connection (Hotmail) Empty Unable to open server connection (Hotmail)

Kindle Fire tablet. Downloaded an app last night, had to noodle around to find it, hit Synch Device because it said to, got app, all is well, but now I can't send emails. They disappear and I get that message. Can't bring up Drafts or Sent either, or receive. Related? Thoughts?
