I started one of the first glass recycling programs along time ago. Got a call and took pictures of my corporate partners dumping the glass into the dump so I black mailed them. Never did I feel so good about being an asshole. So am I surprised at the plastic situation. NO

I've been recycling since the late 80's. What a disappointment to read that article. It is so disheartening.
There has to be a way to get rid of the plastic even if it's not recycled. The person who figures that out is going to collect more than one Noble Prize. Can it be melted down into building blocks? Or pulverized to be mixed with asphalt or concrete in the manner that tires are recycled for roads and paths?
There has to be a way. One thing is for sure. Plastics are lighter and, because they are light, that Coca Cola truck uses less fuel to get the product to market.
There has to be a way.

I have read several reports, and seen even on CBC about Canadian firms, the "truth" about recycling, and the majority of it is graft.

That report makes me want to hurl! The amount of time and energy we made to only create "clean trash" for the landfill. Disgusting how badly we were fooled and intentionally mislead by big money $$ bandits!!
