The Plenary of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) invalidated the prohibition of recreational and recreational use of marijuana contained in the General Health Law.

“Today is a historic day for freedoms. After a long journey, this Supreme Court consolidates the right to free development of the personality for the recreational use of marijuana ”, said the presiding minister, Arturo Zaldívar.

The Plenary of the highest Court of the country voted in favor of the General Declaration of Unconstitutionality (DGI) of the sections in Mexican law that prohibit the recreational and recreational use of cannabis.

In addition, the Plenary of the SCJN agreed to send an exhortation to the Congress of the Union to regulate the recreational use of marijuana, in order to generate legal security for both users and third parties.

This does not mean that the entire cannabis market is legal or that consumers will be exempt from limitations or sanctions, since the bill states that "in no case is it authorized to import, trade or supply" marijuana.

It is only that, with the Court's resolution, people will no longer have to resort to the amparo lawsuit for the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), to issue self-cultivation permits for personal consumption.

No as probably this needs to settle down and see if it changes state law.  I wouldn't push it at all with state and muni cops yet.

I'm in favor of it. Maybe the local ne'er-do-wells will leave only roaches laying on the sidewalk instead of empty 40 bottles.

As usual. Things were going good until AMLO stuck his beak in. He wants commercial growers to be 40% indigenous peoples, yet there is no way these poor people can afford the required security fencing. He wants documention from seed to sale. He wants limits on the strength. He is personally against legalization, and he has turned the project into a socialist dreamland.Big agro will prevail - they always do, everywhere in the world.
