If on a 6 month tourist visa how can I best get my prescriptions?

Looking at moving here, but planning to start with a tourist visa. If on a 6 month tourist visa how can I best get my prescriptions? Use a US adxress and have them forwarded? Take US scripts to a Dr here? Order refills in the US but get them filled here?(How to do that?) I' doubt if my Kaiser HMO plan provides any services down here. I an on social security and medicare, including Medicare advantage.

You can easily get most of your scripts here without a doctors note. The only thing you need a doctors note for here is basically antibiotics or narcotics. For those just go to any clinic and get the script.

You should be able to get six months worth of your prescriptions in advance for travelling purposes. While down here, go into various pharmacies (farmacia's) and check availability and pricing. Or you could make an appointment with a Doctor (around 500 pesos and many speak English) to go over your prescriptions to find out exactly what those prescriptions are called here and if they are available and/or if they are available as generics. As CBob said, absolutely nothing requires a prescription except for antibiotics and narcotics. Most medications are much cheaper here than in the U.S.

It's comforting to know my scripts are available and affordable. Most my pills are for a Congestive heart failure condition so finding a doctor is probably a good idea. I do speak Spanish pretty well which should help.

Am actually thinking my stay will be longer than 6 months, possibly permanent but probably will have to go back and forth at first as i likely won't  initially qualify for a residential permit.

I am hoping my crypto holdings will blossom and close a financial gap but they won't unless I hang on to them long enough for them to grow. Will also be trying to get writing assignments.

FYI, Dr. Hector Briseno with Quality Care is an excellent cardiologist. The Quality Care group is now located at the Hospital San Antonio on the highway opposite the entrance to the Chula Vista Golf Club.
Very thorough, very good, doesn't speak down to you, is upfront about everything, very good at sorting through medications with cross reactions (so arrive with a list of everything you're taking)... and he does it all in English.
You do not need a referral from a GP. That said, he is very busy so when you know your approximate arrival date, book an appointment well in advance. Lety, the Quality Care Receptionist, also speaks English.
And, PLEASE, check with your Doctor in the U.S. BEFORE you come to find out if your heart condition will be aggravated by the altitude here.

Leeonardo, most but not all  prescriptions are readily available here. Some specialty meds are almost impossible to get. The advice to get six months of prescriptions and then check around is extremely sound. When we moved here we found that we could not get Elmiron a drug that was necessary for a condition my wife suffered from at that time.
