You are correct! It was 11F2 back in the early '40s. Then, after WWII it became JO3-2873, with a dial instead of a hand cranik. All the rest are forgotten.

Mine was Plaza3545 which became 745-3545. It was our phone number always. My mother had the same number until she died in 2003. I do not recall any of the phone numbers of my adult life.

I would imagine if you spent all your growing up stage at the same address (I'm jealous), it wouldn't be that hard. We moved every couple of years... and that's a lot of numbers.

I, too, can remember my childhood phone number. My aunt and uncle and my grandparents lived in the same town and I can remember their numbers, too. I currently have two numbers and constantly fumble trying to remember which one is which.
I have an old wooden coat hanger from my home town. The label on the hanger says: Odorless Cleaners, Telephone number 69.
