En Mexico nosotros tenemos muchos milagros. If an expat is convicted of a criminal offense, they will be deported. End of story. I think after she slept on it, and had a visit with Alex the next day, who is a government employee, she had second thoughts about the fkg mess she created. Just because you are an expat you do not have a license to be a conquistador, you are not invincible. You are a tourist regardless of your visa status.

Any expat with any kind of visa who thinks that they have equal rights as that of a Mexican national is dead wrong.

If Alex does not get his job back, she is history.

In the video, the big fellow and the man in the red car who confronted the woman for not wearing a mask are not wearing masks themselves? I don't understand that.

Well the older man was in his car alone...who wears a mask then?

We don't have the entire video but the opening frame seems to show her exiting the restaurant---gotta wonder if she was asked to leave because she didn't wear a mask inside? Conjecture on my part, admittedly.

In a video that was posted (and unfortunately now removed), on the Lakeside Covid 19 group, the older gentleman in the car that she coughed into, got out of his car WITH his mask on and was backed up nearly to his bumper when she kicked out at him.
And I STILL want to know what happened further up the sidewalk because I, also, am speculating that she was not allowed to enter the restaurant because she wasn't wearing a mask. Alex was not wearing a mask but was working outside. Masks are only required when entering stores, etc.
It's like pulling teeth trying to get the whole truth.

I just watched the video on page 1 again. The older gentleman is NOT wearing a mask. I went forward and backward a number of times. He has a beard that I thought was a mask. My error.

Dostortas, you did not see her at the Ukraine demonstration. You saw a friend of mine, Paula, who also has long, dark hair with streaks of grey. They have similar physical characteristics, but are not the same person.

Does anyone know her name? I agree that she won’t be deported although she is a foul person.

I just looked at my YouTube feed, the video has been posted on one of those “crazy karen” channels. It’s in cyberspace forever now.

I saw a video from earlier in the incident.  It showed "Karen" in the restaurant without a mask and was asked put on her mask.  The was a woman sitting right next to the altercation at a table, who saw and heard this.  The diner was sitting next to the windows between the parts of the restaurant and these windows don't start until about  20+ feet into the restaurant.

Just curious:  How did all of Ajijic get dissed when what the subject was about was rude individuals?
I've met plenty of polite, decent people in this town: both Mexicans and expats.

If you go back to the original OP, it is the Informador that is at fault.
1) For stating it happened in Ajijic which it did not
2) For assuming the woman was American
3) For having really no knowledge or understanding of what happened or why

It was also the OP who was posting it to slag Ajijic, stating later on in another post that he was actually on the side of people minding their own business, i.e. that she shouldn't have to wear a mask and that he's not a "liberal democrap like most of Lakeside."

Managed to get a derogatory reference to "socialism" in there, too, which seems to be an obsession with right wingers these days, even though they have no idea what the term actually means.
