New Restaurant Upstairs at Ajijic Plaza - Papa Gayos

The 2nd story extension construction above the ice cream shop and Media Luna restaurant has been going on for a long time.

Yesterday I saw tables and chairs in it, and a waiter walking around.

Later I read on FB that the eatery is having a soft opening this week; it's name is Papagayo's.  Current hours posted as 7:30 to 3:30.

Here is the menu; wish it were more interesting, but it is nice to sit up high over the Plaza.  We enjoy similar views at 4 Estaciones on the north side of plaza on 2nd floor of the cultural center.  

Four of us went there last night for dinner. The ambience is quite nice. The food however was mediocre at best. Two had filet mignon and said it tasted like it was boiled. I had arrachera and it was ok, not great. The last one had salmon and said it was excellent. I hope things improve with time.
